Safety in the Parking Garage

You've decided to go out and partake in a great day of shopping therapy. Like so many people, you've parked your car in a garage. On your way back to get your car and go home, you might notice that the parking garage is a little empty. You worry because you know that you might be assaulted, or worse. Well while dangers like this are a very real thing that people, especially women need to be mindful of, there are ways to make sure that you protect yourself. The first thing that you need to do, is to check out your surroundings. Make sure that you use the five second rule. This means that you take at least five seconds to look around to make sure that you don't notice anything strange or uncomfortable. Be on the look out not only for strange people, but anything else like shifting shadows, or lights. Also, try to breathe calmly. This will accomplish a couple of things.

First, it's next to impossible to think clearly when you are in a state of panic, so the best thing is to calm down so that you can think clearly and strategically. Second, breathing calmly will allow you to listen out for anything strange. Pay attention to gut feelings. If you have any inkling that anything is strange or uncomfortable, don't proceed to your car, but go back indoors as soon as possible. You need to portray some confidence as you are walking out to your car. Make sure that you hold your head up high, that you are making eye contact with everything and everyone around you. Don't talk on your cell phone. You don't want to be distracted, and you need to hold you head up high to be on the lookout. Also, predators prey upon women in particular who are weak, or scared. If you walking crisply and confidently, you won't seem like such an easy mark for an attack. Sometimes a predator will try to attack you anyway, but you have every right to take measures to protect yourself. One way that you can accomplish this, is by carrying around a means to protect yourself. As women, we might think that carrying a weapon makes us "bad girls", or is too dangerous for us.

However, we have to be brave, modern women. The fact is that there are people who prey upon women in particular, and they want to do us harm. We have every right to protect ourselves. To that end, you could start out by carrying around a non-lethal weapon, such as a lipstick stun gun. A lipstick stun gun is a small, compact type of weapon that was especially made for women. The outside casing literally looks like a tube of lipstick. But underneath the cap of a lipstick stun gun are probes that will send electric charges to the predator. These electric charges will immobilize them long enough for you to escape, or to run for help. The fact that the lipstick stun gun is covert works to your advantage. You don't want the predator to see that you obviously have a weapon on you. If they do, they can make plans in their minds as to how to take the weapon away from you. Worse, they will try to use the weapon on you! But if you have something like a lipstick stun gun, then they will be thrown off. This is what you want. You need for them to be confused, even if for a few seconds. You can use their confusion against them to get away. There are also stun batons that you can carry around. The stun baton can be carried on a key-chain, or on a belt. These batons accomplish the same task as the lipstick stun gun. They immobilize the assailant, so that you can get away. Unfortunately, there will always be people who might try to create danger for you. But know that you have options to protect yourself, and you have the right to do so.   Observe your Surroundings and BE SAFE.
